Our Philisophy

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6

The above scripture sums up our philosophy at Faith Christian Academy. We provide a safe, nurturing Christian atmosphere of child development.

We believe what children learn from birth to five years of age gather the basis for all future learning.  Therefore, we employ open-ended, goal-directed programming through a Christian curriculum and the learn through experience concept.  Our program pursues the development of observation, questioning, listening and inferring.  We believe that children must first gather data from hands-on experience before they are expected to understand more complex concepts.  These sensory experiences will become the basis of learning experiences to come.  We encourage creativity, confident thinkers, individuality, communication, exploration, invention, trying-out, fun and enjoyment.

We know the lessons that a child learns during the early stages of life have more to do with forming his/her character than all that he/she may learn in future years. Therefore, biblical principles and Godly characteristics such as: faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, Godliness; brotherly kindness and love are taught on a daily basis. In addition to spiritual development, our curriculum model encompasses six major child developmental components and builds on concepts related to childhood development. Those six components are: Cognitive Development, Communication/Language Development, Creative Expression, Physical Development, Emotional Development and Social Development.  Our curriculum is implemented though a framework based on general monthly themes and a Christian foundation.

We know that at all knowledge including academics has its foundation in the ultimate standard of truth, the Bible. New theories, ideas and concepts of child development can always be found, mostly with little evidence of positive, long-term effects. However, the Word of God, (biblical principles of child development), still remain effective today with overwhelming results.

We know that a return to Godly principles incorporated with the basic foundations for learning will assist us in producing productive individuals, capable of taking on a world of challenges and overcoming them, making them assets to our community, nation, and world to the glory and honor of God.

We are developing tomorrow's leaders in a faith filled atmosphere!
